Addendum to Version
7.30
(The following changes were implemented since version 7.22)
We are proud to announce many new features with this release. As you will be able to tell upon reading about the new features, some of them are dynamic! They will literally change the way you can use The Ultimate to keep a closer eye on the bottom line. Please take the time to carefully read through this addendum to learn how to implement many of them.
Customer
invoice history now holds last 40 invoices
In the past, the
software linked only 10 past invoices to the customer, which was a major
concern when looking up information on very active customers. The
customer invoice lookup has been increased to 40.
Rental invoice history now holds last 40
invoices
In the past, the
software linked only 15 past invoices to the Rental item, which was a
major concern when looking up information on top renting new releases.
Like the customers, the rental invoice lookup has been increased to 40.
Customer
Account payments now show TYPE of transaction
You can now display
the “type” of transaction that caused a balance due, whether it was for
a late return, or the invoice was “Put on Account” at the time of the
transaction.
Rental
and Title activity now displays information about the last 24 months
This
is a “Big One”! No more “Period End Processing”. In fact,
no more periods! Rentals will now be individually (or by
title) tracked by each calendar month for the past 24 months. For
example, you can now display (or run a report) showing how many times a
title or item rented last March, or April, etc. During the update
procedure, a utility will be run from your past invoice history to
update previous months so this information can be used immediately.
Customer

The
Ultimate now allows you to process Re-Indexing upon startup
We
have always recommended that your files be reindexed daily, but many of
our users forget, causing possible problems. You will now have the
choice to activate this feature. To accomplish this, you must change the
“Command Line” in the windows shortcut (the icon you click to run The
Ultimate). Change the word ULTIMATE.EXE to ULTINDEX.EXE. You will find
this at the end of the command line. The choice to activate this is
totally yours.
NOTES:
Only do this in the main computer (server)
Any other workstations must be OUT of The Ultimate and back to the
desktop
prior to running the shortcut on the main computer.
Individual Movie Comments now show on information screens
Sometimes it is
necessary to enter an important comment about individual rental items.
This comment can now be seen during invoicing by pressing F7
(Rental information) on the desired invoice line.
Added Quick Selection screen for selling price of Rentals
You may now configure a selection screen of the most popular 10 price points for the selling of rentals. When a rental is sold, this screen will automatically display to let you choose the current selling price. This saves several keystrokes during invoicing.
Don’t
forget to set Security for new features
A few of the new
additions to this update have associated security options.
If
you use security, then you can find these added questions from the
following menu:
System Tables Setup / System Setup & Tables / Security Levels.
Any newly added questions will have “blank” answers which you may want to fill in with a security permission level.
IMPORTANT!
Some of the new features added in version 7.30 will be enhanced in future patches which are free to download from our web site. All of the enhancements planned are now being tested in several stores for their feedback on the best presentation method within the software.
