History...
The Ultimate made it's debut in early 1994. Since that time, it has grown to be one of the leaders in the Video Store Point of Sale software market.
Once selling for $995.00 (single user) and $1,495.00 (multi user), the decision was made to drastically reduce the price in time for the Year 2000 turnover. Our strategy was to get as many stores to switch over at a time when thousands of stores HAD to switch anyway due to their existing non Year 2000 software. Many of them even had software from companies out of business, where upgrades were impossible. Our feeling was, if the store owner could substantially upgrade their existing software for (in many cases) less money than purchasing the Year 2000 update for the inferior product they were already using, it would be of great service to the store owner.
So the price was dropped to $300.00 in 1999 and the single user copy was discontinued. The current software operates on from 1 - 30 workstations per store.
Well it worked, and far beyond our expectations!
The days of Video stores spending $1,000.00 and up for their point of sale software are long over. Many software vendors have since gone out of business due to the big drop in new customer sales, which was expected once the "Y2K" was over in 2000 and 2001. Our strategy has kept us able to continue supporting and updating the software for our valued customers, while at the same time continue to address new customer's needs.
For the low cost of $300.00, you will receive your registered copy of The Ultimate to be used in one store location. Extra installations at home or in an office can be installed for no extra fee. We only charge per STORE location. In addition, a full year's membership to "The Ultimate Club", which provides software support and free updates, is included
