Creating a Desktop Icon  (Windows only)

By creating a desktop icon, The Ultimate is always "one click away".

Click HERE for detailed instructions.  (Windows '95 - '98)
Click HERE for detailed instructions.  (Windows XP)

For users running multiple workstations on a network, refer to the Network Installation page for the exact command lines when creating desktop icons on your workstations.

NOTE to Windows XP users:  When using Windows XP, you should refer to one additional document. XPSCREEN.DOC will resolve an issue with, upon installation, starts off being “crunched” to the top half of the screen.  This document will fix the problem and give you a full screen look.

Creating a Store Number to Use

Until the software is registered, The Ultimate will be in store number 999, which is the demonstration mode.  The demonstration mode has all the features of the regular software, with the exception that it will only hold a maximum of 100 Customers and Rentals.  Once the software is purchased, an access code will be given which will allow you to create a permanent store which has unlimited record storage.

At that time you can begin filling in all the System Tables Setup screens, and start to enter your data.  If you are having a file conversion from your old system, then follow the instructions which come with the conversion software.

Many of the default setup questions from the demonstration store will be created in the new store.  The salesperson's code will remain 999 until you change it.
